Job Summary
As the Regional Vice President (RVP), you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the strategic and operational success of all branches within our Northern Region. You are responsible for driving profitability and achieving the company’s objectives, working closely with the branch managers to ensure that goals are met in compliance with corporate policies, environmental regulations, and safety programs. Collaborating with the executive leadership team, you will contribute to both short- and long-term business strategies. You will also play an essential role in recruiting, developing, and mentoring employees to foster a high-performance culture.
Position Outline
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all Northern British Columbia and Yukon branches to ensure operational excellence.
- Direct and coordinate activities across branches to achieve business goals and ensure profitable outcomes.
- Implement business strategies and financial controls to meet established goals.
- Champion the corporate vision, mission, and values to align all branch activities.
- Promote the company’s brand and “service first” reputation in the marketplace.
- Foster customer satisfaction through effective sales management and operational support.
- Ensure employee job satisfaction by overseeing onboarding, performance reviews, and development programs.
Roles and Expectations
Sales and Business Development:
- Work closely with the sales teams to maximize selling efforts while controlling costs.
- Lead formal meetings with branch managers to review sales strategies, resolve challenges, and implement adjustments to improve sales and profitability.
- Assist branch managers in evaluating and approving estimates, quotations, bids, and proposals.
- Monitor monthly sales performance and expense management to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
- Collaborate with the COO, VP of Sales, Used Equipment Manager, and other RVPs to manage inventory and rental fleets for optimal returns.
Financial Management:
- Review and guide operational aspects of all branches within your region, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
- Collaborate with branch managers to develop forecasts, business plans, and financial targets.
- Monitor and assess sales, gross profit, and expense performance across departments.
- Oversee accounts receivable and budget management within the region.
- Review cost sheets and follow up on open work orders to ensure accuracy and completion.
Operations:
- Serve as a liaison, maintaining strong relationships with branch management and leadership teams.
- Promote compliance with company policies and reinforce procedures across the region.
- Ensure timely completion of annual employee reviews and support branch managers in employee development.
- Provide operational expertise in planning, communication, and strategic decision-making.
- Measure branch performance against key metrics and take corrective actions as needed.
Customer Relations and Satisfaction:
- Ensure compliance with the company’s “Service First” philosophy by delivering exceptional customer service and addressing customer issues with effective solutions.
- Utilize customer feedback to identify business opportunities and refine strategies.
Risk Mitigation:
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement action plans to address deficiencies.
- Monitor customer financial risk and report significant changes to relevant internal teams.
- Promote a culture of safety by enforcing safe practices across branches and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Safeguard company assets through proactive risk management and loss prevention.
Leadership and People Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop branch managers to align their efforts with the company’s vision and strategic goals.
- Foster a high level of employee engagement by facilitating performance reviews, coaching, and resolving personnel issues.
- Conduct regular meetings to support teams in achieving goals while reinforcing company values and culture.
Experience Required:
- Successful leadership of a team consisting of multiple departments and roles
- Ability to make sound decisions based on economic and financial information.
- Relevant experience in the construction and forestry equipment sectors
- B2B sales experience, preferably in a related sector
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Marketing, or related field, or combined equivalent education and experience in a similar industry.
