Parts & Service Sales (Customer Support Rep)

Great West Equipment, Fort St John, B.C.

Succeeding in business is about more than selling great products. If you want to make a real impact, you must provide something special to the community, and make accountability and integrity your number one priority.

We’re Great West Equipment, and we do just that. We’re a privately owned heavy equipment machine business consisting of eleven branches that operate throughout every region of British Columbia and the Yukon. We are the Volvo distributor for British Columbia and the Yukon, and our product line also includes Metso crushing and screening equipment, Timberpro feller bunchers, Sennebogen material handlers, and Madill forestry products. The driving force behind our organization is the sincere commitment to our people, their focus on exceeding customers' expectations and the values that we live by every day:

Now we’re looking to add a new member to our growing team: someone who is organized, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and thrives on continuous learning.

You’ll love working here…….

The goal of a Customer Support Representative (CSR) is to become a consultant for the customer. A successful CSR is actively engaged with the customer, understands the customers business, their needs, and has the product and technical knowledge to offer the right solution at the right time. A CSR will successfully increase sales by maintaining and developing long-term relationships with existing and prospective customers.

The CSR works closely with the Branch Manager and Corporate Customer Support Manager to develop sales programs and strategies to attain annual budget targets.

What’s in it for you……

We’re a growing business in an exciting industry, and we’re a family. This is a full-time, permanent position. We offer a competitive compensation package, which includes full health and dental, plus a company sponsored RRSP plan. We encourage our CSR’s to treat their day to day as if they were operating their own business. Whether that is scheduling their time, establishing their market opportunities, supporting existing customers, or identifying and building relationships with new customers. At Great West Equipment, our biggest strength is our people, and we give our people the resources and the freedom to grow their business. You’re going to have an amazing feeling of fulfilment when your efforts drive us to become each customer’s first choice for equipment, parts, and service.

The successful applicant will reside in Fort St John, Chetwynd, or Dawson Creek

You’ll fit right in with ……

  • A “Service First” Mentality. It’s our company slogan and you are driven to support customers with exceptional solutions. You’ll recognize that our customers’ livelihoods depend on the service they receive from our team.
  • Being a Relationship Builder. You’re going to get to know your customers, their equipment, and their business by listening actively. You’ll build rapport and trust by personifying our values. You don’t take “no” personally, but rather use it as an opportunity to build or maintain the relationship until “yes” is the answer.
  • Knowledge. You have the knowledge, or you are willing to do the work to gain comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment, OEM and aftermarket parts. You will be competent with identifying components on machines, understanding how they work, and the processes involved in maintaining equipment. You will have a continuous drive to learn and stay current with new technologies so that you can better serve your customers.
  • Ambassadorship. You’re going to represent our company and you will demonstrate how we stand apart from the competition with service-first mentality. We will be the customer’s first choice because of your demonstrated professionalism, honesty, and drive.
  • Organization. You have already developed systems to organize your thoughts and daily work activities. You manage your territory and resources with deliberate planning and prioritization to maximize your impact.
  • Tech savvy. You will be comfortable with learning new software, and you’ll also have the ability to communicate with technicians and customers regarding equipment.
  • Critical Thinking. You are curious and you collect and examine information about machines and products so that you can become an effective consultant to your customers, thinking outside the box to provide creative, service-first solutions.
